The 5 Day Junk Removal Challenge
Sometimes when it comes to decluttering your home, it can be difficult to get motivated. This is especially true when the “junk” items aren’t so obvious. If you need to get spaces organized, sort your belongings, separate your junk, or deal with long-forgotten storage spaces, junk removal can feel overwhelming.
That’s why the 24 Hour Junk Team has put together this 5 day junk removal challenge to help you tackle even the biggest junk removal tasks with the least possible stress.
Let’s get started!
On the First Day…
All good home projects start with a plan and so does our 5 day junk removal challenge. Start by deciding which areas you want to declutter and even prioritize your spaces. Maybe your recreation room has gotten so far out of hand that it’s hard to enjoy the space, or perhaps your garage fills you with a sense of dread every time you step into it. Whatever you do, set a plan and know which spaces you want to attend to most. Then, set yourself some de-junking goals – you’ve already done half the work in know what you want to tackle and your priorities for getting things in order.
Another great tip for getting organized and removing junk is to start where you feel the least stress. That might mean starting in the smallest space or the space with the least clutter and progressively moving toward larger jobs. And by the way – just because this is a 5 day challenge, doesn’t mean everything needs to be done in 5 consecutive days. You might choose 5 Saturdays for your challenge.
Make your goals achievable for your life and schedule!
The 5 Day Junk Removal Challenge
Two Junk or not to Junk…
On day two, focus on your priorities and start asking yourself what you want to junk and what you want to keep. Try to be ruthless – if you haven’t used something in a year or more, ask yourself if you really need it. Is it an item with sentimental value that’s been hidden in a box for a decade? Are there clothes that have been lurking in the back of your closet? Most of us use less than a quarter of our belongings more than three quarters of the time. If you don’t use something, remove it.
It Takes Three Sorts…
You’re almost half way through the 24 Hour Junk Team 5 day challenge and it’s time to start sorting your junk. Remember, just because it’s junk to you doesn’t mean it is junk to everyone. Plus, some items are going to end up in landfill, no doubt – but some things can be recycled or reused. Make sure you have boxes or bags to sort your items and know that when we remove your junk, the 24 Hour Junk Team will always take it to the most responsible disposal location whether that’s recycling, thrift shops, or landfill. We’re committed to the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle so that we can maintain the well-being of our natural environments.
Four to the Floor…
These headings are getting abstract – but the moral of day four’s story is you can invite friends and family to help you with your 5 day challenge and also offer them the belongings that are junk to you but maybe treasure to them.
Day Five is Alive…
On the final day of your junk removal challenge, it’s time to reach out to the 24 Hour Junk Team to collect your belongings. You’re well organized, your items are sorted, your space is clean and clear and you want to be sure your junk is disposed of responsibly. We’re the team for you and we offer convenient, affordable services!
